Who died?

There are always crazy, funny happenings that occur in one’s life. Please keep in mind as you read this, it really did happen to me.

Coming from Central Pennsylvania, we have our own “dialect” or phrases. If you are from that area, one does not have to explain. Central Pennsylvania is a hilly area with valleys in between. So when you tell someone you are going “over in the valley”, it just means the next valley over.

A very, special lady, that I was visiting one Sunday, asked me if I would like to “go over in the valley” with her. I had nothing else to do on this beautiful, sunny day, so off we went. I thought we were going to church. For some people, it is a normal thing to go to church on a Sunday afternoon.

We arrived at the supposed church, which turned out to be a funeral home. Not wanting to be rude, I didn’t ask any questions. Going inside, there was a body in a casket. Okay, this is normal right? The service took place. We said our goodbyes and left.

Finally, I got the courage to ask who died?. The person was her son-in-law’s mother. Honestly, have .you ever sat through a funeral and not know the person? This was one of the strangest things to happen, but I still laugh about it.

I thought you might enjoy this short, blog tickler! I enjoy writing them. I hope you like reading them!
